Great relaxing trip through the estuary. We saw crocodiles, many different birds, reptiles and some mammals. Our guide, Ivan, was punctual with our pickup and great on tour. It was only myself and my girlfriend on the tour so we had a quiet and peaceful trip. If you’re looking for something relaxing to do on a free morning in Tamarindo, look no further!

Great morning with David, we learned a lot about mangroves and saw howler moneys and crocodiles. The kids loved it and it was very peaceful.

We took the estuary boat trip last Sunday. We definitely recommend this activity as a relaxing way how to spend a part of your vacation. Our guide did his best to show the guests as much wildlife species in their natural habitat as possible. One must realise this is not a ZOO, so complaints about the fact that the wild animals do not behave like models on a runway are a bit unwise. Native´s Way´s staff pick you up at your hotel, even though you stay at the hotel just a few hundred meters from the place where you board the boat. Persons with some walking disability can have difficulty boarding and disembarking the boat, so we recommend to discuss this with the agency before the booking the trip. Be sure to have a bug spray with you, there are a lot of mosquitos over there. Refreshment consisting of cold drink and fresh pineapple is included.

Through the tour group Exoticca we got to go on this Estuary Safari! What a nice quiet trip up the estuary through the mangroves of trees with a super nice guide! Birds, monkeys and even got to see my first crocodile! What a nice 3-4 hour tour! Worth doing if you’re ever in Tamarindo, Costa Rica.

My friend and I really enjoyed the estuary tour. Our guide, Fabio, was enthusiastic and knowledgeable. We saw lots of wildlife, both flora and fauna. The boat was comfortable and he provided drinks for the group. He made sure we understood that we were in a habitat and not a zoo (no howler monkeys this time!). Tour left on time and was quite comfortable.

Booked with wonderful Henry @ the Native's Way booth in Tamarindo. We were indifferent with the reviews, but so glad that we did it. We were picked up right outside our condo. Short drive to the boat launch. Our Captain Ivan was really good at answering questions, stopping to see things, searching for creatures and backing up when we would pass something/creature to see. Ivan had a lot of knowledge about the area and what lives in it. He found all sorts of birds, a couple of howlers, a couple of crocs, a couple of raccoons, lots of fish and crabs. We had a lot of laughs and many memories were created. Highly recommend doing this. It is a very great experience for the price and it only takes 2 hours.

This was a great trip with much more wildlife sightings than expected, including crocs, parrots, and howler monkeys. Our guide & skipper Ivan was awesome and knew the best places to find wildlife; he even surprised us with a short hike into the jungle, after parking our boat on the riverbank, which was where we spotted at least a half-dozen howler monkeys in the trees. We did the 7 am tour, which is what we'd recommend for greater chances of seeing wildlife.

We had a great time on our tour led by Fabio. We saw crocodiles, sandpipers, herons, and an ibis. Even though the tour was supposed to be two hours, it lasted for close to 2 1/2 hours because there was so much to see. Fabio was very knowledgeable and friendly. He served drinks and fresh pineapple on the trip and we learned a lot!
